Akua, the winner of the 2011 Ghana’s Most Beautiful pageant, has received help from Nana Owusu Barimma III to undertake her project which is aimed at assisting street children in Kumasi to learn a vocation.

The Atasemansohene has donated a huge plot of land to Akua for her project.

The land, which is located just opposite the Atasemanso Primary and JHS, was given to the beauty queen, who once upon a time also had to sell on the streets of Atimatim in Kumasi due to poverty.

Nana Barimma III said the plot of land was his widow’s mite to help make it possible for Akua to save more children on the streets of Kumasi.

The Atasemansohene said society should learn to give a helping hand to those that had the passion to help the vulnerable, giving a thumbs up to Akua for her great vision.

Nana Barimma III, who presented the land to Akua at a function last Tuesday, urged society and organizations to come to Akua’s aid to enable her help the less privileged.

The Member of Parliament of the area, Dr. Richard Anane, also presented a cash donation of GH¢5,000 to Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2011 queen, while the Nhyiaeso MP also presented brand new sewing machines and hair dryers.

Akua, a native of Santase in the Nhyiaeso Constituency in Kumasi, immediately after being crowned winner in 2011, promised to use her new status to set up a project to train street children in Kumasi in vocations such as hair dressing and dressmaking.
