Foretold PV’s Death -Predicted State funeral

While the actions and/or inactions of charlatans parading as Men of God have made Ghanaians wary of modern day prophecies and view them with contempt, The aL-hAJJ can confirm that the death of Ghana icon, Sir Paul Victor Obeng last Thursday was prophesized seven days earlier by the General Overseer of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams.

The aL-hAJJ can confirm that at the ACI’s “Impartation service” on Sunday, May 11, 2014, the renowned man of God affectionately called Paapa, announced to his congregation that there was a looming state funeral so they should pray over it.

Some members of the Spintex road based church confirmed to this paper that; seven days to the passing away of Engineer P V Obeng, also a Senior Advisor to President Mahama, Archbishop Duncan Williams told the congregation that Ghana will lose a senior government official and implored to pray to avert it.

“At the impartation service, he told us there was a state funeral at hand and that a senior government official will die. He said God had revealed to him in a vision and asked us to pray over it, but he and his prayer warriors were already praying,” a member of ACI who does not want his name mentioned told The aL-hAJJ.

Other members of the church who were present when the man of God made the prophecy also confirmed to this paper, with some of them saying they were stunned when they heard news about the death of the Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission.

The late P V Obeng was pronounced dead last Saturday on arrival at the LEKMA hospital after he reportedly collapsed near a Filling Station on the Spintex road. Messages of condolence have since been pouring from all quarters. President John Mahama described his death as “sad and tragic” and said he was "a passionate nationalist and patriot".

Former President Rawlings, under whose stewardship he served as Chairman of Committee of Secretaries also referred to him as a “rare gem” who has paid his dues to the socio-political development of Ghana.

While Ex-President John Kufuor said he could not believe his ears when the news of P V Obeng’s death got to him, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo described his death as a loss of a distinguished son.

Mr P V Obeng was a Mechanical Engineer and Chairman of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) council, the university where he graduated from after his secondary education at the Opoku Ware Senior High School in Kumasi.

Mr. Obeng, an accomplished politician with long years of service and an orator par excellence left behind four children and a wife, Rosemary. He was appointed in 2010, under President John Atta Mills’ administration as chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC).

He served as the chairman of the Committee of Secretaries under the Provisional National Defence Council regime (PNDC) from 1982 to 1992 and was referred to at that time as the de facto Prime Minister.

He also served as Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs under the Rawlings National Democratic Congress regime from 1992 to 1997, before he allegedly fell out with President Jerry John Rawlings.

The Action Chapel General Overseer is fondly remembered for his recent prayer and command for the falling Ghanaian currency the cedi, to rise.
