Fast rising Ghanaian Designer and creator of fashion accessories particularly bags made with African fabrics, Ama Sika Asante of Ani Siyah, made Ghana proud at the just ended Africa Fashion Week which took place over the weekend far away in New York.
Ama Sika Asante of Ani Siyah known for making bags and other accessories showcased different designs of portable ladies bags with an African touch and provided bags and accessories to the international models that graced the run way during the world class fashion show on Saturday, July 14 2012, as part of activities at the world acclaimed Africa Fashion Week New York.
The African Fashion Week New York (AFWNY), a luxury multi-day event produced by Adirée, took place at the Broad Street Ballroom on July 12th, 13th, 14th in New York City’s financial District.
Ghanaian Designer Ama Sika Asante’s fashion brand Ani Siyah employs an eclectic mix of Kente, Ankara/Ntoma fabrics with leather, velvet, calfskin and a touch of crystal beads to enhance the beauty of her accessories.
Her clutches are breathtakingly beautiful with touches of Ghanaian culture. Colorful, bold and yet, tasteful, Sika’s accessories are on modern women’s wish lists.
AFWNY includes runway shows hosting 21+ designers from various countries in Africa and those of the African Diaspora, exhibitions, and industry networking events. Opening designers Francis Hendy, Korto Momolu, and designers like Mafi, Attolle Collection, Geraldo Fashions and others.
