When it comes to female gospel artistes with silky inspirational voices and exceptional beauty, Miss Jael Wiafe is top on my list. Since gracing the gospel scene with her debut album 'Gye Me' almost five years ago, she has managed to keep her name on the tongues of her fellow Ghanaians.
With her unique style of gospel music, which is a fusion of African, Caribbean, and western music, one can tell this gospel diva is on the way to the top. She is planning to launch out into international waters with an upcoming album dubbed “The Bleeding Heart”. This album is actually a sound track for a movie she is producing based on a book she has written which will soon be out on the market soon. Jael will play the leading role in her upcoming movie.
Watch out for some of her upcoming projects which include the launch of? a hip-gospel album. In Ghana, Hip-gospel is gospel rap music and Jael is the first female gospel rapper in Ghana. In her own words, she said “it has not been widely received because people seem to think rap music is of the devil but I put it to all the critics that God is the originator of all things”.
“The youth love rap music and it is very selfish of anyone to try to take that away from them. It is the choice of parents who want to raise leaders of the future whether they want their kids to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ in a rap-song”, she added.
Jael already has three albums to her name. Her second album entitled ‘Bohye’ was an instant hit in Ghana with a song called “W’agyeme” featuring Nana Yaw Asare, a top gospel act in Ghana.
Jael is very clear about the direction of her third and latest album, “Me Yi W’aye” meaning ‘I Will Worship You’ which is by far her best.
It has ten songs on tape and fifteen songs on the CD. Jael, has her own record label ‘Jael Records ’which has produced seven albums so far including ‘The Disciples’, ‘Anointed Queens’ and ‘Molarto’. She also has a ministry called J.M.I, which stands for Jael Ministries International. This ministry is all about winning souls to Christ under a N.G.O. called ‘The Angels Home’.
Apart from being an actress, she is, as we all know a singer, songwriter and a prolific woman of God. She calls herself the ‘Proverbs 31’ lady because she is also into real estates.
Jael discloses “With God on my side, the sky is limitless” in a soft tone. Jael believes that, we should tap into our potentials, the gifts and talents God has given us and use them to better our lives. She says, women like Oprah Winfrey challenge her tremendously so she is also coming up with a talk show on Ghanaian television which will air this November.
The main mission of JMI is to provide to the society, especially the youth with educational, financial, spiritual, physical and emotional assistance.
Born in the mid-seventies to the late Mr. A. Wiafe, Chief of Mpraeso-Kwahu, a timber-merchant and one of Ghana’s wealthy businessmen, Jael is still very humble.
As a solo-artist, she has ministered in songs and also preached at countless events like Praise Fiesta 2004, Harvest Chapel Easter Conventions, big and small churches in and outside Accra.
Jael crystallizes her purpose in music and in life with her compelling new album (Me Yi W’aye) that has a deep meaning to her and that she will forever praise the lord. For her final words, she says we should love one another because God is love.
Jael can be reached on phone on +233 20 815 0392 and +233 24 418 2444 or email her at info@jaelwiafe.com and jael@jaelwiafe.com. Also check www.jaelwiafe.com for more information about her. ?
