Outspoken Musician and CEO of Media Excel Productions Kwesi Ernest has referred to Ghanaian celebrities who throw their support for political parties as beggars.

He added his voice to various condemnation made by people who think celebrities are not supposed to through their weight for any political party publicly.

Kwesi Ernest who was speaking on Onua 95.1 FM flagship entertainment program, Anigye Mmre hosted by Christian Agyei Frimpong said “ Before an American celebrity like Opera Winfrey will publicly support any political party she will check the state of her finances from her bankers, before embarking on such decision. Let me ask if Ghanaian celebrities have money, when they ask from their bankers the state of their finances, its only GHC 700 in their bank account”

Kwesi Ernest further stated that “I have worked with Pastor Lenny Akpadie, after he composed a song for the Late Attah Mills and the NDC, his career got sunk. Nobody was ready to distribute or buy his songs in Kumasi. Celebrities who are engaging themselves in endorsing political parties are treading on dangerous grounds”

Enoch Agyapong, CEO of Speech Production has also warned celebrities to desist from endorsing political parties but hiplife musician Barima Sidney sees nothing wrong with celebrities endorsing political parties.
