Belgium-based Ghanaian artiste, B.K, has shed light on the struggles faced by emerging artistes in the music industry.

In a recent interview, he emphasised the need for a more supportive and sustainable structure.

"Ghana boasts an incredible pool of talented musicians, yet they struggle to make a breakthrough due to inadequate funding and infrastructure," he lamented.

He also highlighted several key issues hindering the growth of Ghanaian music, including the scarcity of resources, lack of effective mentorship programs, limited access to funding, and inadequate industry infrastructure.

"Many talented artistes are unable to take their music to the next level due to a lack of support," he noted.

B.K, however, called on industry stakeholders, such as record labels, promoters, and investors, to collaborate and develop strategies that promote the growth of Ghanaian music.

"We need to invest in emerging artistes, provide mentorship, and create opportunities for them to showcase their talent globally," he urged.

He also emphasised the importance of creating a sustainable structure that supports artistes at all levels, from emerging talents to established acts.

"We need to stop looking at music as a quick cash grab and start treating it as a long-term investment in our culture and our future," he stressed.

In line with his commitment to fostering change, B.K has announced plans to launch initiatives aimed at bridging the gap between emerging artistes and essential resources.

"I'm committed to being part of the solution, creating an environment where talent is nurtured and celebrated," he affirmed.

As this dialogue continues, netizens are hopeful that it could mark the beginning of a new chapter for the Ghanaian music industry, one where talent is not only recognised but also adequately supported to flourish on both local and global stages.

B.K is one of the top Belgium-based Ghanaian artistes actively promoting Ghanaian music in Europe for years.

With a career spanning both the music and movie industries, he is uniquely positioned to comment on the challenges and opportunities within the Ghanaian music scene.
