Ghanaian struggles in ANTM, but makes a comeback in week 4

It was a nail biting moment for Ghanaians when their very own prodigy, Roselyn Akhtar nearly got kicked out of the African Next Top Model (ANTM).

Roselyn found herself in the bottom two in week three of the world famous competition.

Week three saw the ten aspiring models being sent to Johannesburg for a charity fashion show presented by the Mental Health Organisation of South Africa. They were later sent to fittings followed by rehearsals, where the girls were split into two groups.

Roselyn disappointed the judges with her lackluster photos and walk. Meanwhile South African contestant Rhulani's inexperience caused her to struggle during the rehearsals, while Safira found herself having to be escorted backstage after breaking down.

Cheandre and Opeyemi seemed to impress the director and were selected to open and close the Thula Sindi show, leaving the other girls disappointed.

When it was time for judging, the models were evaluated on their walks as well as a photo that was snapped of them while they walked. Cheandre is deemed the best performer of the week, while Safira from Mozambique and Roselyn are placed in the bottom two.

Oluchi reveals that the judges saw more versatility in Roselyn, and in a very emotional elimination, Roselyn gets a lifeline whilst Safira is sent home.

In episode four, nine were left in the Africa’s next Top Model competition and the girls are asked to choose a number from a mysterious box in the model house. The girls puzzle over how this activity will affect their upcoming task (cryptically alluded to in the O-Mail as “selling soap”), and their imaginations run wild.

The next day, the models arrive at a studio to meet resident judge and advertising executive Remi Adetiba, who explains that those randomly chosen numbers will determine the product each girl will need to embody as the group is cast in mock ad campaigns for brands by Procter & Gamble. The downside was that a client representative was on set watching every girl’s entire shoot!

Some girls really excelled including Roselyn who made a marked improvement from the previous week. When it came to the judges having to make their choice – Omowunmi - from Nigeria, who seemed to have one of the strongest personalities in the model house, got eliminated from the competition.
