Nana Aba Anamoah
Award-winning broadcast journalist and GhOne News Editor, Nana Aba Anamoah, has made a serious case for gender equality among Ghana's national football teams during a panel discussion on Joy FM.
As March 8th is International Women's Day, Nana Aba Anamoah, along with several other prominent Ghanaian women commented on matters surrounding the struggle for equality during the course of Joy FM's Super Morning Show.
Touching on Ghana women's national team, Nana Aba expressed that they played and won gold medals, as opposed to the Black Stars, who haven't won a gold medal in recent years.
"Ghana's female team played and won gold for Ghana; something the Black Stars haven't done in 30 years. Yet our ladies have to demonstrate, and hold up placards to get what's due them. In Ghana, women are born with talent but are held back by prejudice, " Nana Aba said.
Apart from Nana Aba Anamoah, the other panelists were Patience Akyianu, Managing Director of Barclays Bank Ghana; Sara Asafu-Adjaye, Campaign Director of Just Because Fitness; Nana Aba Anamoah, Broadcast Journalist, and Aunty ‘B’, aka Makola Market Queen.
Madam Charlotte Osei, the EC chair, hosted the Joy FM's Super Morning Show on account of it being International Women's Day.
