Ghanaian soul and hip-hop artiste Lord Paper has described Ghanaians as perverts.

Lord Paper came to public light and trended for weeks on social media when he released a very explicit and risqué music video to his song Awurama.

The video, which saw Lord Paper and a female model engaged in steamy sexual moves got tongues wagging and Ghanaians talking for days.

Speaking with Natalia Andoh on E on Class on Class91.3FM on Saturday, 22 July, the controversial musician said the fact that the video went viral hours after it was released proved that Ghanaians are perverts.

“The Song itself was soul music; it was [about] love. There’re people who can do those kinds of songs, let’s say James Brown, Fela Kuti…and it’s amazing but the video concept was by Fiifi Grey. We were discussing the concept and I thought it was cool…we are going to be making love in the video, so I was like ‘cool let’s do this’. I didn’t even know it was going to blow or it was going to trend that fast but within that period of time, five hours, I got to know how much Ghanaians are perverts,” he said.

When asked if that was how he felt about Ghanaians, Lord Paper replied: “Yes that’s how it is. In the beginning I thought they were crazy about the art but now that’s how I feel.”

Touching on whether he actually made love to the lady in the video, he said “Yes that was the concept.”

Born Michael Takyi-Frimpong, Lord Paper is signed to the record label MMC (Money Matters City’Wation).

Lord Paper began full-time music in 2010 and between then and 2016, worked as an actor in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He remained underground until 2016 when he caught the attention of Ghanaians after releasing the controversial music video titled.
