Singer and songwriter, Eshun has said the acceptance of 'Patapaa kind of music' by Ghanaians and the music industry is killing real talents in Ghana.
According to the ‘someone loves me’ hit maker, Ghanaians prefer 'one way of doing things' and it makes it uneasy for talented artistes with different style of music to penetrate in the industry.
She made this assertion in an interview with Accra based radio station, Zylofon FM.
“Ghanaians are used to one style of music, the Patapaa and kind of songs are what is in vogue. This kills talents of musicians who want to try new styles” she said
She proceeded by saying that most artistes in the industry have been forced one way or the other to follow the trend as that is what Ghanaians love to listen to.
"People who divert from it are left on their own” she added.
According to her, for an artiste to survive in the industry , you have to do what the masses want and later do your own style when you are accepted.
“However, I believe if one follows the trend for a while to make their name, they can chip in their main style. Efya did it and it worked out for her.”
