Sweet faced broadcast journalist and newscaster, Gideon Aryeequaye, has finally waded into the controversy that he is a hardcore homosexual who practices anal sex with men and boys.

The ace broadcaster, who currently works with EtvGhana, said the rumour that he is a homosexual is not new to him and that he is not sure where the ‘loose talk’ is coming from.

“I don’t know where this gay thing came from. I have heard that over and over again. I have met people and once they see my demeanor, they are like ‘oh I have always thought that you are a gay. I have heard that about you’”, Gideon explained to Dzifa Smith, host of EtvGhana’s Soccer Celebrity show.

Gideon was awarded the best TV personality and newscaster award in both 2001 and 2004. He disclosed on the program that he has a pretty wife called Daisy and they have four children, but added that it was not even enough grounds for him to debunk the allegations of homosexuality being leveled against him.

“People talk; people say all sorts of things when they probably haven’t set eyes on you. And you can’t defend it. I have a wife and four kids. But I can’t be a gay. There are bisexual men, those who like both women and men but I am not a gay. I am absolutely not,” he added.

Though Gideon’s accusers have not provided any evidence to prove their claim, they have successfully mongered the uncomplimentary speculation by employing the Ghanaian grapevine vehicle of “they say, they say” without mentioning who actually said what and where.

Gideon’s exceptionally good looks, spotless face, well trimmed moustache and the fact that he pays considerable attention to his haircut, are being used as grounds to link him to the homosexual underground.

His response to the issue prompted a sms text message sent by a viewer to the live TV show, requesting a confirmation or denial of the speculation. Mr. Aryeequaye explained that contrary to speculations that be bonks males, he is rather inundated by proposals from several firls, courtesy his profession.

“People meet you and they want to exchange numbers, they want to be a friend here and there. It is a good feeling. As irresistible as some of them could be, you need to be able to be in your lane. Because of the job we do we have to be careful. If you have to overtake then you have to do it with care. It is an incredible feeling,” he added.

Gideon Argyeequaye, until he moved to EtvGhana, worked with TV3 as a newscaster. He also worked at Happy Fm, as host of World@Five, a current affairs program.

Aside that, Gideon writes scripts for movies, jingles and produces TV commercials. He attended the Koforidua Secondary Technical, from where he proceeded to the University of Ghana, Legon where he read chemistry and later had short refresher courses in media broadcast at the University of East London.
