A number of Ghanaian artistes who were signed on by the Nigerian Telecommunication giants, Globacom Company Limited as its ambassadors, have expressed dissatisfaction about the way and manner Glo is treating them.
Beatwaves’ investigations revealed that some of the artistes who were signed on as Glo ambassadors a year ago in South Africa have still not been paid whilst those who were given part payment are also not happy because their arrears are long overdue.
Some of the disappointed artistes whose contracts with Glo have already expired expressed regret working with Glo as its ambassadors, adding that they have been treated with total disrespect. They were of the view that they expected to be treated like the way other networks have been treating their icons. A source at Glo, when contacted on the issue, told ‘Beatwaves’ that he was not in the position to comment on the issue. When pressed further, he declared that the contract agreement between Glo and the artiste “is secret and confidential.
I cannot disclose it to you because it is secret and confidential.” When asked whether the artistes involved have been paid fully, the source said” how can we sign a contract with artistes without paying them. Please, as I have already told you, this is secret and confidential. Some of the ambassadors who spoke to ‘Beatwaves’ warned that they are ready to go public about how they have been unfairly treated by Glo.
