Actress Gloria Sarfo has made some disturbing observations with in the movie fraternity in connection with aged actors and actresses.

Miss Sarfo feels these veterans have contributed immensely to the sector to the point that, their mentorship and inspiration is what ignited interest of most actors; hence should be supported in any way possible.

She particularly lamented the absolute neglect of veterans, most of whom are still interested in taking up roles in movies but are not invited to do so.

She urged directors to try and engage them for roles as aged or older person’s in movies instead of going through the stress of doing makeup for young persons to act like old people in movies.

“They are not happy, they are not okay with what is happening in the system…it looks as if we have neglected them… It appears we don’t think they exist. These people are the same persons we admired so much in those days. I mean years back who entertained us when we get back home?” she questioned in an interview with Nikki Samonas on TV Africa.

“Most of our veterans wish they are called back on set, they miss being on set and in front of the camera…You know most of them do admire us, the young ones who are emerging… They wish they can act and have something to do with us, but they are not called. Instead, what do we see, we see people who are made-up to play the roles the veterans can play,” she bemoaned.
