Ghanaian Actress and Entrepreneur,Gloria Osei Sarfo, has stated that even though the Ghanaian movie industry has in some way lost its vibrancy, the industry is not dead.
In an interview with Foster Romanus on the Late Nite Celebrity show, she noted some reasons for the decline in the movie industry’s vibrancy.
“We have ups and downs, we had our potholes, we had challenges, and it got to a point a lot of things changed because the marketers also had their challenges. CDs were not selling anymore and social media took over. And one problem we have is that we don’t have investors. We don't have people who believe in our craft”,she added.
She, however, believed that if we had a lot of cinemas in the country, that will do a lot of good in the movie industry.
Gloria Osei Sarfo has grabbed a nomination at this year’s Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) for Best Supporting Actress in the Shirley Frimpong Manso film The Perfect Picture: 10 Years Later.
Her nomination was the only nomination for Ghana in the AMVCA as she competes with Toni Tones (King of Boys), Eucharia Anunobi (The Foreigner’s God), and Tina Mba in this category .
