One of the hottest singing groups in Ghana, God’s Family International, has launched its new album, Our Testament.
The album was launched at the Kama Conference Centre in Accra under the distinguished chairmanship of the CEO of Ghana Chamber of Mines, Joyce Aryee, who is the Grand Patron of God”s Family International, and officiated by Pastor Nii Lamptey Thompson, Pastor of Prince Emmanuel SDA Church.
The album contains eight tracks sung in Twi, English and French. Some of the tracks are Breathe on Me, one of the hottest tracks so far, One More Time, Onyame Ye Da Wase and I Will Serve Thee.
The rest are Guide Me-Great Jehovah, Alellua Chant, Here I Am and Ngalaba. All these tracks were recorded at Sammy Helwani-Master Mix Studio in Accra.
An exciting singer and one of the most popular gospel musicians across the world, K. Morris from Canada, was the special guest artiste for the occasion. It was an exciting moment to see how she was able to move the crowd with one of her gospel renditions in reggae tune.
Though a singer, she also deals in poverty alleviation programmes and donates to charity as well in some of the African countries, especially Ghana - where she once donated $1.5 million to the poverty alleviation programmes.
God’s Family International comprises two Nigerians, two Ghanaians and a Liberian namely, Mr. Chinedum Onuoha, Mrs. Nkechi Onuoha, Isaac Boadu Afriyie, Mavis Owusu and Genevieve Cox respectively.
One of the members, Nkechi, Account/Director who spoke on behalf of the group said, “Our main aim of singing is to change the perception of gospel music. Of late gospel music has become too noisy, and with this album, which is food for the soul, the obviously bad notion about gospel songs will be wiped away.”
According to her, the group was formed some years back in Nigeria and was later transferred to Ghana. In Ghana, they began with ten members when they released their debut album entitled, Behold in 2005, which was recorded at Anoints Studio.
She further explained that owing to some business issues and schooling, some of the members had to travel outside the country. That is why their number has dropped to five members in this second album.
