Ghanaian socialite Xandy Kamel has defended actress Emelia Brobbey against recent criticisms regarding an alleged betrayal and theft case.
In a video post made via social media, Xandy indicated that actress Emelia's alleged theft case occurred over 11 years ago, and critics should refrain from backlash.
According to her, "God will punish any lady who makes a video to insult the actress".
"Why do you people want to remind Emelia of her past? This issue happened over 11 years ago, and you should stop insulting the woman. What do you gain from attacking people?
"Any lady who goes on live video or in any comment section to attack Emelia Brobbey, God will deal with you. Tell me who hasn't committed a crime before. I am even surprised that it is her fellow women attacking her," the socialite lamented.
Xandy Kamel further noted that the actress has been through a lot in life as she rarely also discusses her personal issues with anyone.
"Emelia doesn't trust humans anymore because she has faced a lot of betrayals in life. The Emelia we see on social media is a different person. Why can't we support her hustle instead of wanting her downfall?" she noted.
What triggered people to speak about Emelia Brobbey's theft case?
Emelia Brobbey was alleged to have stolen a bracelet during her visit to the United Kingdom 11 years ago when her partner flew her on a trip to give birth.
The actress was then deported after the incident occurred. However, her friend, Akua Agyeiwaa, with whom she stayed during her visit, was also deported when immigration discovered she was an illegal immigrant.
In a recent video circulating on social media, some family members and friends of Akua have been seen expressing their grievances over what they described as betrayal from Emelia, highlighting how she abandoned her friend, Akua, during her arrest and the mistreatment she faced.
