Takoradi, July 25, GNA - One hundred golfers are participating in the two-day 36 holes scratch competition organised by the Ghana Amateur Golf Association which teed-off at the Takoradi Golf Club on Saturday. Mr. Solomon Harvey, the Public Relations Officer of the Club told the He said participants for Groups A and B are aged between 55-64 and 50-54 years respectively, while the Special Group has participants aged between 65-79 and 80 years and above.
He said the Club would also organise other supporting groups who would only play for a day.
Mr. Harvey said Mr. Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, Minister for Education, Youth and Sports, Madam Sophia Horner-Sam, the Deputy Western Regional Minister and other top government officials are expected to witness the closing ceremony on Sunday and present the prizes to the winners. He said the prizes include golf kits and trophies.
