The gospel singer who spoke under anonymity said, it saddens her heart that many of the gospel singers in the country are not on talking terms.
?Mr. Journalist, it will shock you that when we perform at programmes, the so-called big ones, especially do not want to talk to some of us who have just entered into the industry and made our names. Besides, they become hostile to us when we approach them for help?.
She had a lot against the kind of lyrics used by our gospel musicians. To her, some of them are sensational but not Biblical at all. The gospel diva who is just some few years old in the industry added with dismay and disbelief that gospel singers who are ?messengers from God? (at least that is what they claim) should have such characters.
The award-winning artiste also blasted her colleagues who dress indecently in their video clips. She wondered why a gospel musician who sings to win souls should dress unholy and unchristian.
?We the gospel singers must remember that our primary purpose is soul winning and not dress sexually to attract the perishing souls. It is so sad and disheartening to see my sister singers exposing their boobs and other parts of their bodies in their clips?, she clipped in sharply.
When pinned to the wall to either oppose or support the notion that they sing for money, the soft-spoken musician said ?though we sing for soul winning, we also need money for our costs and payola fees?.
