Gospel musician Koda reveals why recording at his studio is expensive

Gospel artiste, Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, who is popularly known as KODA, has given a very simple clarification about why the charges for recording in his studio are relatively higher than what other studios take for the same service.

The Takoradi-based sensational musician told Andy Dosty in an interview on Hitz FM’s ‘Daybreak Hitz’ that there are two main reasons which account for the high charges at his studio.

Koda gave the first reason as, differential pricing. He explained this point to mean that because he has trained many young guys, he does not want his fees to be at the same level as them. He adds that if he did that it will prevent these talented young men he has trained from getting business and as such the reason why his rates are a little higher than theirs.

The ‘Hossana’ hitmaker also told Andy Dosty that because the people he usually works with in the studio will have to travel long distances for recordings, he will have to pay them very well. This factor also results in the need to charge high rates in order to be able to adequately cater for the financial needs of all the people he works with.

Koda, however, apologized to any gospel artist who had the desire to record in his studio but was unable because of the rates. He tells such people to understand and bear with him.
