Kasoa(C/R), April 21, GNA - The Founder and Leader of the Power of Christ Ministry International Church, Apostle Samuel Ayisi-Larbi has appealed to the Government to review the law permitting the sale and screening of films in the country.

He also called for the immediate banning from the market, films that sought to degrade the clergy and relegate divine functions to the background and projected bad morals among the youth.

Preaching the sermon at Kasoa, Apostle Ayisi-Larbi strongly condemned filmmakers, who have persistently engaged in the production of films that portrayed bad the image of those engaged to work in the Lord's Vineyard.

He said films in which clergymen were seen allegedly having illicit sexual affairs with other people's wives did not only cast a slur on divine work and the Creator but also injected a deep sense of disaffection into the viewers towards honest and dedicated people, who had been called upon to propagate the gospel.

Such actions also attracted bad omen for the nation, Apostle Ayisi-Larbi said, stressing that it was about time the Government took drastic action against people, who dealt in such defamatory films to save the image of the nation.

He said Ghana was seen and known to be one of the most religious countries in the World and must not be allowed to harbour things that could attract a curse from God.

Apostle Ayisi-Larbi charged the National Media Commission to help the Government to rid the nation of all indecent films from the Ghanaian market to facilitate national crusade against all forms of indiscipline that was plaguing the society.

He also appealed to various churches and other religious organizations to speak against the screening of bad films on television and in cinema houses.
