Gospel artiste Grace Ashy known for her cheer songs for the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars, in an interview with Flex Newspaper says she is not going to do any cheer song for the team this time round when Ghana has qualified for the World Cup.

“I don’t have any plans in doing a new song for the Black Stars of Ghana. I have done my part; I do all I do with my own money. No one sponsors me. Since 2006 up till date, the songs I recorded for the Black Stars are from my own coffers, and I promote them with my own money.

Neither management of the GFA nor the Black Stars management team have ever called me to even thank me or show me any appreciation. I don’t earn anything from the songs I have done for the Black Stars and I don’t regret for doing them because I did it for God and country.

I therefore encourage each and every one of us to add his or her quota to the development of our dear country” Grace Ashy said categorically.

“I managed to meet the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Mr. Kwasi Nyantakyi sometime but he has never said anything or called me before. I only keep on doing what I do for the sake of the love of this country and our Black Stars.

My brother, whenever Black Stars have a match to play, if I tell you the kind of calls I receive from the media across the world, you won’t believe. I feel so much pressured and frustrated when this calls come to me. You know I’m also a family woman, a proprietor of a school and a business woman. I want to cut down this pressure because I am not getting any younger” Grace Ashly added.

“I say without fear or favour that the GFA, the Black Stars of Ghana and the Ministry of Sports have been ungrateful to this honourable woman. This, to me, is unpardonable. It is high time Ghanaians and institutions begin to show appreciation to people who have on their own will, decided to do something to help build and develop our country. We need to encourage patriotism so as to enhance the course of Ghana”, a management member of Grace Ashy stated with a hidden face.
