This January, DStv viewers can enjoy new seasons of some of their most loved TV series as well as tune in to some amazing new ones. Check out some of the highlights
Greys Anatomy: Grey’s Anatomy is an American medical drama television series created by Shonda Rhimes. The series premiered in 2005, since then, seven seasons have aired. The series follows the lives of interns, residents and their mentors in the fictional Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital in Seattle, as they struggle to complete their medical training and maintain personal lives.
The doctors of Seattle Grace Hospital deal with life-or-death consequences on a daily basis – it’s in one another that they find comfort, friendship and, at times, more than friendship. Together they’re discovering that neither medicine nor relationships can be defined in black and white. Real life only comes in shades of grey. Grey’s Anatomy makes a comeback with its eighth season on Tuesday 17 Jan at 20:30 on M-Net East and 22:00 on M-Net West.
Stones in Exile (Premiere): In 1969, after a row with their manager Alan Klein, the cash-strapped Stones moved to France along with an eclectic mix of beautiful women, drug dealers and addicts, musicians, technicians and French chefs. It was here, in the basement of their rented villa, and compiled during the small hours of each morning, that the Stones’ arguably most successful album, ‘Exile On Main St.’, was born. With Executive Producers Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the documentary looks back over this exuberant period of scandal and creativity, and reveals an insight into what it was like to be in – or around – the Rolling Stones during those hedonistic and chaotic days. With archive footage, tour outtakes, and candid photographs, Stones in Exile recreates the era of 60s rock and success. DStv audiences can tune into BBC Knowledge from Sunday 8 January at 21:00 CAT to watch this documentary capturing the creation of the Rolling Stone’s classic rock album, and the drink, drugs and scandal that went with it.
