Ghanaian rapper, Guru and popular Kumawood actor LilWin have been spotted conducting a door-to-door political campaign in some halls at the University of Ghana.
This comes as Guru, real name Maradona Yeboah Adjei, aims to secure the presidency of the Student Representative Council (SRC) at the University of Ghana, Legon.
Videos trending on social media showed Guru, who is currently a third-year Political Science and Information Studies student, with his running mate and their team, actively seeking support within a female hostel.
In a notable show of solidarity, Kwadwo Nkansah, also known as LilWin, was seen accompanying Guru in his efforts.
The 'Alkayida' hitmaker announced his bid for the 2024/2025 UG SRC elections earlier in 2024.
In an interview with Accra-based TV3, Guru said his decision was born out of the need for proper solutions to address the prevalent challenges faced by students at the institution.
Among his proposed initiatives, Guru cited the establishment of a campus-based TV station, the improvement of campus transportation services with additional buses, and the introduction of recreational activities to alleviate student stress.
