HMD Global, the home of Nokia Phones, boosted the country’s fashion industry with their innovative smartphone features at the just ended glamorous awards ceremony in Accra.

It was a night of glamour at the Glitz Style awards with extraordinary creative talents in Ghana and across the African continent as designers styled their clients in beautiful clothes on the red carpet.

This year’s awards, which came off at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra on Saturday, September 1, also sought to strengthen the growing fashion industry by establishing, developing and promoting international industry standards here in Ghana.

HMD Global was inspired to partner Glitz Africa because they believe there’s a strong connection between innovation, as embodied by their Nokia smartphones and the growth of the fashion industry.

The Nokia phones manufacturer, has a range of smartphones featuring striking designs, particularly the Nokia 7Plus which combines innovative imaging capabilities and powerful performance; a key requirement fashion enthusiasts seek and were able to experience first-hand.

Some celebrities who experienced the sleek Nokia 7 plus captured the excitement of the night with the bothie feature of the phone, which enables the user to take both a front and back photo at the same time.

Gilbert Asante, one of Ghana’s finest fashion photographers was crowned the best fashion photographer beating two other nominees.

The best fashion photographer is set to receive a sleek Nokia 7Plus expected to enhance his innovation and productivity working in the creative industry.

Some creative personalities who exceled in their field of endeavors and received awards included, Joselyn Dumas; best dressed celebrity on the red carpet, Velma Owusu Bempah of Velma’s Accessories, the accessories designer of the year, and Kelvin Vincent who won stylist designer of the year.

Other personalities rewarded for their remarkable fashion sense were, Nathaniel Attoh; media personality of the year, Zynnell Zuh; best dressed celebrity on the red carpet, and Lharley Lhartey as the rising star influencer of the year.

Honouree awards were also presented to Emmanuel Kojo Mensah; business executive of the year, and Juliet Ibrahim as Glitz Africa Magazine Style Influencer.

The event saw nominees from different sectors of the entertainment industry including actors and actresses, fashion designers, social media activities, and musicians dressed in flamboyant and fashionable outfits as per the norm of the fashion event.
