Popular Ghanaian music producer, Hammer, real name Edward Nana Poku Osei, has been appointed National Director for the Hiplife and HipHop genres by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).
The appointment of the CEO of the Last Two Music Group who is known for grooming and shaping the careers and produced hits for Hiplife and HipHop artistes such as Obrafour, Tinny, Kwaw Kese, Sarkodie, Edem and recently TeePhlow and Okolie was announced at the inauguration of the newly elected executives of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).
Bice Osei Kuffour popularly known as Obour who was reelected as the President of the Union made the announcement at the event held at the British Council on December 11, 2015.
He also announced PY Addo Boateng former co-host of Viasat1’s The One Show as Hammer’s Deputy.
“First thing we want to tackle is the increment of membership as far as the Hiplife/HipHop genre is concerned. We are going to do door-to-door interaction. We don’t have to wait for them; we will go to their studios. We will be going to their homes to get them registered.”
“It’s important that, you [musicians] are part of this organization [Union] for future sake and for problem sake. Scandals can pop up anywhere, from anywhere, anytime, you need the support of an organization of MUSIGA,” Hammer said.
Other appointment includes; Nana Yaw Osei-Darkwah as the Spokesperson for President and International Relations Manager, National Director for Reggae – Root Eye Nyarko Ofei, National Director for Highlife – Smart Nkansah, Deputy is Dela Botri.
Others are National Director for Traditional – Emmanuel Ampofo, Appiah ‘Appietus’ Dankwa as Talent Discovery & Development Director and Emmanuel Samini as Fundraising & Sponsorship Director.
