Hammer narrates how he met A1 Bakery owner

Famed sound engineer and music producer, Hammer the last two, is calling for government support for the producer of fast-rising bread of A1 bakery.

Hammer, known in real life as Edward Nana Poku Osei believes the young entrepreneur is an inspiration to the youth, and must be supported to grow his business and also impart knowledge on the future generation.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanaweb, Hammer said he was astonished by the scale of the bread making factory Godfred Obeng Boateng had put up, when they first met.

He says the then 26-year-old CEO of A1 bread even at that tender age was the epitome of a young man ready to take on the business of making bread on a larger than usual scale.

A1 bread gained popularity when Ghanaian actor John Domelo used the CEO Godfred Obeng Boateng, who was selling some of the bread on the roadside, as an example of a youth who had been forced to sell bread by the streets after graduating from university, due to the lack of employment opportunities in Ghana.

Dumelo's post drew scathing criticisms from social media and the larger Ghanaian population. He was accused of trying to dampen the spirit and denigrate the efforts of a young man who has established his own business instead of joining the masses to look for non-existing jobs.

Hammer said in the interview that he was so impressed by the exploits of Mr Obeng Boateng that he took back to the factory musical icon Sarkodie, to witness for himself what a young man, same age as him[Sarkodie] was doing.

According to the music producer, AI bread, based in Kumasi, is currently expanding to the market in Accra and other parts of the country.

The government should, therefore, provide some level of assistance to help the business succeed and become the benchmark for graduates who seek to chart the path of entrepreneurship after school.
