Ghana's No.1 sports and current affairs station; Happy 98.9 FM has signed a partnership agreement with Biyac FM in Akyem Oda to support the latter in their quest to be a formidable radio station in Ghana’s Eastern Region.
On Friday, July 20, 2018, management of Biyac FM led by the General Manager, Mr. Kwesi Aboagye met with the management of Happy 98.9 FM in Accra to finalise months of discussions on how Happy FM could support Biyac FM in their operations.
A Director at Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (parent company of Happy 98.9 FM); Mr. Timothy Karikari reiterated the company’s willingness to support Biyac FM and any other radio station that needed assistance in the areas of strategy development, knowledge sharing, content syndication, technological support and all other areas of broadcasting.
According to him, radio stations in the rural and suburban areas need assistance from urban and established brands especially conglomerates such as Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company.
“Technology is changing the way we operate radio stations. Years ago, a van had to travel to locations with huge inbuilt towers for a simple outside broadcast assignment. This made it expensive to cover elections and other time sensitive events simultaneously from multiple centres. But in today’s technologically advanced world of broadcasting, hours of content can be transmitted live with the use of a simple mini transmitter with the aid of data. As bigger brands, we can offer such insight and support radio brands in the suburban and rural areas to succeed”, Mr. Karikari stated.
Happy FM’s award-winning social based programme; “Nsem Pii” hosted by Pastor Nyansa Boakwa would be among the first shows to be syndicated to Oda through Biyac FM.
Other programmes such as Happy FM’s current affairs progamme; “Epa Hoa Daben” hosted by Kwame Afrifa Mensah would also be syndicated to Oda and its environs through Biyac FM.
Mr. Kwesi Aboagye; General Manager of Biyac FM expressed their delight for this partnership and reiterated his company’s desire to maintain and strengthen the relationship.
