Accra, September 6, 2010 - On their seventh anniversary of offering superior sports broadcasting, No. 1 Sports Station- Happy98.9FM has promised a more quality and exciting sports radio experience for their listeners and clients.

Having demonstrated dynamic leadership in sports broadcasting, the station has won several awards including the PLB Football Station of the Year in 2008 and the Sports Station of the Year consecutively in 2005 and 2006.

Committed to taking sports broadcasting to a higher level, Happy FM earlier in 2010, rebranded as the No.1 Sports Station in Ghana with more focus on sports in its programming and an up-graded social and political programmes to offer a total package to a broad-based and diversified listenership. In the same bid, the channel has also recently boosted its signal strength in the Greater Accra Metropolis to allow more people enjoy excellent programming on a crystal clear frequency.

At a Thanksgiving service held at Word Miracle Church International on Sunday, Bishop Charles Agyin Asare said “The number ‘SEVEN’ represents Sovereignty and New Beginning and so Happy FM, on its seventh anniversary will break new frontiers and continue to be the leader in sports broadcasting”.

Other interesting activities marking the anniversary include, Live Band/Dinner at Poks Canteen, a Clean-up exercise at Accra Psychiatric Hospital, Sala Street Jams with VIP at Nima, and a Donation to the Ghana Police Service

Station Manager Bismark Brown says “On behalf of the entire management of Happy FM, I say thank you and ‘Ayekoo’ to our clients, listeners, fans and staff for their loyalty and partnership in positioning Happy FM as the pace-setter in sports broadcasting”.
