Ghanaian hiplife artiste and Chief Executive Officer of Nhyira City Night Club and Money Go Flow Music, Nhyiraba Kojo, has asserted that a young man being in a relationship with an elderly rich woman, otherwise known as “sugar mummy” to ensure financial stability is not wrong.

According to him, several of the upcoming artistes face a lot of financial issues which sometimes leads to the collapse of their career, eventually making it difficult to have a well planned music career.

“I’m not trying to condemn that angle that, they shouldn’t make friends abroad or receive help from anybody, it is because there is difficulty in the industry, that is why all the time we want wealthy women who can help us, which is our solution for surviving” he said.

He further stated that, condemning the act will have to depend on the individual expectations and how well he/she wants to be established in the music fraternity, since reliance on financial support from sugar mummies only help to enhance ones career.

It does appear that, several up and coming artistes or what is known as “underground” artistes who do not have well structured management to oversee their needs or responsibility turn to connect with women who mostly live abroad to support their career financially.

However, the financial support given to these young men has strings attached as they will have to satisfy the sexual desires and also pose as lovers of these women.

But Nhyiraba Kojo who is alleged to be a victim of the circumstance says it will be out of place for him to condemn the act but rather it will be prudent to have such women around than a falling career.
