Ghanaian TikToker Obaa Cee has recalled the tumultuous journey of her failed marriage, disclosing deeply troubling episodes of abandonment and emotional distress.

Recalling the harrowing events in an interview on The Delay Show which was aired on May 4, 2024, Obaa Cee recounted how her marital woes began, stemming from her husband's abandonment during crucial moments of childbirth.

Six years after she had her first child out of wedlock, Obaa Cee found herself pregnant with their second child, only for her spouse to propose an abortion.

"His reason was that he did not have money to take care of a child," she disclosed, reflecting on the difficult decision she faced.

"I told him even when we were not married, I gave birth so how does he expect me to abort a child now that we were married? So, he said he wouldn’t take responsibility if I refused to abort the child and I thought he was kidding."

Obaa Cee detailed how her husband's abandonment persisted, recounting the agonizing experience of once again being left alone at the hospital after childbirth. She said her first experience of being abandoned at the hospital was when she gave birth out of wedlock.

She did not expect such treatment to be meted out to her again but the narrative was not so.

She expressed that although her husband had covered the medical expenses, she still struggled with the emotional burden of his absence and the added financial pressure. Despite his contribution, she felt that the amount he provided wasn't sufficient to meet her needs.

"I refused to take the meagre housekeeping money," Obaa Cee said.

Her resolve only led to further neglect, as her husband ceased financial support altogether, leaving her to navigate the challenges of single motherhood alone.

The final blow came just 40 days postpartum when Obaa Cee received news of her husband's decision to divorce her, delivered through his family members.

"His sisters came home, gave me an amount and said the man says he can’t marry me anymore, and that was it," she recounted.

Meanwhile, Obaa Cee said that her husband was the one who took her virginity.

"When I met him, I knew no other man. He was the one who took my virginity,' said Obaa Cee, now rumoured to be 54 years old. "We dated for four years before welcoming our first child. At the time of our marriage, he resided in Asafo while I lived with my mother in Krofrom, both suburbs of Kumasi. I was around 23 years old when we began this journey."

Obaa Cee said she is now happily married to a Ghanaian based in the United States. According to her, they have been happily married for fourteen years now. The current husband, she said, has been extremely helpful.
