Up-and-coming Ghanaian artiste Zico Ranking has shared how heartbreak led him to walk from North Kaneshie to Gbawe.
Narrating his ordeal in an interview with Hitz FM on 4 September 2024, Zico Ranking recounted how his then-girlfriend, who was his senior during their school days, looked after him.
However, after she completed her studies, the distance between them began to grow.
“After her completion, she started saying things like I wasn't her type anymore because of the fame I had in the school and all that. She wasn’t getting in contact with me anymore,” he shared.
The final blow came when Zico, while repairing her phone, stumbled upon messages that shattered his dreams of building a life with her.
Devastated, Zico embarked on a long walk from North Kaneshie to Gbawe, a distance of about 9.2 kilometres.
“I went to her messages. And when I saw some of the messages that day, I walked from North Kaneshie to Gbawe. My mind was messed up. I wanted to build a career with her because of the things she did for me in school. She was even fighting her mates because of me. So I had plans for her,” he narrated.
Asked what kind of messages he saw that provoked such a reaction, he said, “I saw messages like ‘Are we meeting at the hotel this weekend?'"
