Herbalist remanded for stealing telephone cables

Accra, July 15, GNA - A 48 year-old herbalist, who allegedly stole cables belonging to Ghana Telecom, appeared before an Accra Circuit Court on Tuesday.

Yayah Sadik pleaded not guilty to stealing.

The court remanded Sadik into prison custody to reappear on July 23. Inspector Emmanuel Boison said at about 1830 hours on July 13, a man saw Sadick cutting some of the overhead cables belonging to Ghana Telecom.

He rushed to the spot and arrested the accused person and sent him to the Police station.

Inspector Boison told the court that he found the cables lying on the ground.
