Hiplife ‘Grandpapa’ Reggie Rockstone stormed an Accra Circuit Court in style on Tuesday, to await his fate in the case in which he Reggie Rockstone is accused of selling a Land Rover car belonging to Peggy Martey Korley a family friend.
The Accra Circuit Court wanted to make a ruling on the case had to adjourn proceedings to next week because the rightful owner of the Land Rover Discovery car, Peggy Martey Korley staying in the United Kingdom, was absent at the trial.
Report reaching us indicates that Reggie Rockstone has still not been able to settle the case out of court as he had earlier on promised the Accra Circuit Court.
Chief Inspector Akolgo, the prosecutor of the case said Reggie Rockstone and Peggy Martey Korley, the owner of the car could not come to settlement because both of them had taken entrenched positions.
The Counsel for Reggie Rockstone told the Accra Circuit Court that they were ready to settle the case out of court with Peggy Martey Korley , but Peggy’s demands could not be met because Reggie Rockstone never sold the Land Rover Discovery car that belonged to Peggy.
The Counsel also stress that they came to the Accra Circuit Court to protest against the demands of Peggy whom they think was not the rightful owner of the Land Rover Discovery car.
Reggie Rockstone has pleaded not guilty to the charge of stealing and has been granted bail in the sum of 30 million cedis, with three sureties to be justified.
Reggie was reported to have sold the car, belonging to Peggy Martey Korley, a Ghana resident in the United Kingdom, who turns to be a family friend to Reggie and his late father, Saint Ricci Osei, a fashion designer who died in 2001.
Chief Inspector Akolgo, told the Accra Circuit Court that, in 2001 when Saint Ricci Osei, Reggie’s father died, Peggy Martey Korley came down from UK for the funeral.
During her Peggy’s visit, she informed Reggie, to take care of the Land Rover Discovery car, while she returned to the United Kingdom.
While in the UK, Peggy had information that Reggie Rockstone, had sold the Land Rover Discovery car without any notice to her and without her concern.
Chief Akolgo, indicated that based on this vital information, Peggy decided to come to Ghana and find out the truth about the Car herself.
When Reggie was asked hand-over the Land Rover Discovery car, he failed to do so, but instead, informed her he Reggie had disposed of it, since he thought it was one of his late father’s cars, which he inherited.
The complainant therefore, decided to report the incident to the Police, upon which Reggie Rockstone was arrested and put before the Accra Circuit Court.
