We have been reliably informed that Hiplife trio Samuel Akman, Richard Danso and Felix Walker who collectively make-up Hiplife group Asaase Aban, almost lost their lives by the action of a careless hit and run driver.
The Hiplife group was involved in a serious car accident on the N1 Highway road on Saturday evening October 6 and had their car damaged beyond repairs.
According to a source the group had just finished a live Television performance on TV Africa’s “Sound Splash” when they met this tragedy.
Narrating the incident to Peacefmonline.com, Samuel Akman also known as Yooba said the incident happened on the main Lapaz road part of the George W. Bush Highway when a driver in Hundai 4X4 who was on top speed all of sudden hit the back of their salon car.
According to Yooba their car somersaulted about three times before it finally stopped and the driver who seemed heavily drunk drove off and didn’t border to stop.
A member of the group, Drasty collapsed right on the spot and had to be rushed to the Korle-bu Teaching hospital at about 12 am but the other two members were not hurt. Yooba said the driver in a rush to drive off left his number splat on the accident scene which the police used to trace him. He has subsequently been arrested and is presently in custody at Police MTTU.
Fans of Asaase Aban are still in a complete state of shock, following reports of their serious car accident after seeing them on TV Africa's 'Sound Splash' performing some few minutes.
Asaase Aban went to support a friend who opened a new pub over the weekend at Santa Maria and on their way back when they encountered the accident.
“For now all we need from Ghanaians and all our fans is to pray for our brother Drasty who suffered a lot and he is still in a critical condition”, Yooba said.
