Prior to the extensive jubilation that rocked the nation on Sunday night after the Black Stars’ 2-1 triumph over the Super Eagles of Nigeria, a group of Ghanaian hiplife artistes who were confident that Ghana would win, organized a party on Saturday night to celebrate the Stars’ victory in advance.

The hiplife stars, Tinny, Samini, Chicago, Obour, Obrafour, 4×4, Nana Quame and others, in collaboration with Omanyeonline, last Saturday organized a big party dubbed Stars for Stars Concert to support the Black Stars.

Fun Village Restaurant, opposite the Ohene Djan stadium was the venue for the big party. Musicians and fans jubilated over the anticipated win with some intriguing renditions.

Adez of Mentor II and Scooby of TH4 Kwages fame were the first to perform, followed by Joe, also of Mentor II. Chicago took over and his performance was superb, after being missing in action for some years now.

Tinny, the Ga hip-hop singer was the toast of the night as the audience joined him in singing his popular hiplife songs. His rendition of Ka Bu Ame, the title track

of his new album was great and attracted loud cheers from the audience.

Batman Samini, unlike the rest, performed with a live band. Like Tinny, he added taste to the show and gave way to Obour, whose performance also was impressive.

To climax the evening’s programme all the artistes came together on stage to do a song they had composed for the Stars.
