Ghanaian Highlife artist, Mr. George Kwabena Adu, popularly known as Kwabena Kwabena, has joined in on the chorus of condemnation against Ghana's self styled "Dancehall King" for slapping his bodyguard during Friday's S Concert.
According to Kwabena Kwabena, Shatta Wale's increasingly controversial behavior is as a result of Ghanaians decision to sit on the sidelines and watch him misbehave more and more without being punished.
Speaking to Peace FM's Sammy Kumah, a.k.a. Sammy Kay, Kwabena Kwabena related how Shatta Wale's controversies began when he "composed diss songs to insult everybody" because he thought he was supposed to win the VGMA's Artist of the Year Award in 2013.
Kwabena Kwabena said that Charter House, event organizers of the VGMA, did nothing about Shatta Wale's rants. That year the award had been presented to dancehall artist Kaakie.
"Rather, Shatta Wale was crowned the artist of the year for 2014 VGMA awards even though he did not attend the award, and it was because Charter House was just thinking of how to make their money,” said Kwabena Kwabena.
Giving his opinion on the issue, Kwabena Kwabena acknowledged that Shatta Wale is a creative artiste, but said that his behavior was giving the country a bad name. He added that it is Ghanaians outside of Ghana that reap the consequences of Shatta Wale's actions.
"...all what he's doing goes out there painting a bad image for the country and people living outside Ghana will be facing the consequences, that is why the Nigerian musicians teamed up together and treated Sarkodie the way they did at the just ended One Africa Music festival in Dubai", Kwabena Kwabena stated.
