Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong, popularly known as Nockuss, has taken a swipe at his former employers and now rivals in the radio business, Hitz FM, describing them as “bogus” and “messed up” when it comes to urban radio.

The host of YFM’s Drive Time and Strategic Manager of YFM in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi made the remark in an interview with Eugene Quaye on "The Big Exclusive Show" aired on Ghana’s flagship student radio station, Radio Univers 105.7 FM in Accra.

According to Nockuss, he ended his contract with the Accra-based radio station, Hitz FM, after 6 months because the station lost its vision of attaining an urban radio status like YFM which was the reason he was called to help meet that goal.

Nockuss said he complained to the management severally that his approach when he took up the job was not being executed.

He then had to resign after his six-month probation with the station. He also added that the whole dream that he had is what he took to YFM.

“Hitz FM started out trying to do urban but they were losing it by the day. They messed up later and tried to do local and after my six-month probation, I wrote them a letter saying I can’t stay there.

“They dropped the ball long time; actually what they were supposed to do is what I did with YFM. If their bosses were around, they will testify to the fact that I complained severally,” Nokuss said.

These comments were made when the host asked him why he left the Multimedia Group of Companies after he mentioned that he had worked there before.

Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong was celebrated on "The Big Exclusive" Show for his consistent hard work in the world of urban radio and his immense contribution in promoting Ghanaian music on his numerous platforms.
