Hot FM, one of Ghana’s innovative radio stations in the capital, has expanded its territories by signing on certain seasoned radio personalities including two top radio personalities from Adom FM to boost up the image of the station.

A seasoned newscaster, Sekyere Porporo Boateng was with Happy FM before moving to Adom FM, and now Hot FM. BEATWAVES gathered that the move to Hot FM is a natural step for him, having had a stint at Adom FM where he was a news caster. At Hot FM, Sekyere Boateng is expected to put his rich radio experience to good use, working with the morning show crew and news team, programmes department and other areas he will be assigned to.

Another presenter who has been signed on is Ekuorba Collins Gyasi, former morning show host of Adom FM who now handles the mornings on Hot FM.

Ekuorba Gyasi made a lot of impact when he hosted Adom FM’s morning show ‘Dwaso Nsem’, paving the way for him to be counted among the best when it comes to morning shows on radio. A trained teacher and product of the Winneba University College, Ekuorba Gyasi has assured his teeming fans that with Hot FM, he is definitely going to change the parameters of morning radio in Ghana.

BEATWAVES gathered that Ekuorba Gyasi and Sekyere Boateng have been credited with the success of Adom FM’s morning show, which is currently being handled by Adakabre Frimpong Manso, whose impact has not being felt since he defected to Adom FM a couple of weeks ago.

Ekourba Gyasi and Skeyere Boateng are on record to have contributed immensely to the success of morning shows on radio.

Sekyere Boateng told Beatwaves “It is better to take risks than not to take risks.” He added that it was that same drive that took him from GBC 1 to Garden City Radio and other stations. The veteran broadcaster said he moved to Hot FM to afford him the chance to change the face of radio.

Disclosing how he was going to do that, the presenter said as radio has become very powerful, he was going to use his new position to push up the sinking image of the Ghanaian culture, effectively link up various categories of people seeking one thing or the other and also use the medium to fight against diseases and social issues like the degradation of the environment.

He also intimated that his new role would enable him have time to come up with far-reaching ideas and also afford him time to pursue a huge role he has been assigned at his church.

Sounding philosophical, Sekyere Boateng opined that the best-educated person is one whose education helps his people.
