Ghanaian music sensation Safo Newman has given a subtle response to comments by Shatta Wale.
Shatta, in a live TikTok session that has gone viral on social media, pointed out that Newman's team failed to refine his image for promotional activities.
Despite Newman's musical success with his hit "Akokoa," Shatta Wale claimed that his handlers have failed to focus on his appearance, which makes him appear unrefined.
“They couldn’t dress him up properly, the boy looked like a tired security guard and they just brought him up for an interview like that. I saw the pictures and I was shocked.
“You see, in Ghana, we do things like no one sees what we do. We are not sensible enough to see that the world is now a global village and whatever we are doing is going viral,” Shatta Wale said.
After these comments, Newman's new video seems to be a subtle reply to Shatta Wale.
In a clip posted on his Instagram page on May 6, 2024, Safo Newman was seen in a robe, rocking his signature beanie hat, a white shirt and a pair of white Crocs while singing along to his new song “Miss Isabella.”
His latest 'drip' was pointed out by many as a subtle reply to the comments by Shatta Wale.
Fans have rallied around Newman, with some praising his strategic release of the video amidst the controversy.
Others have encouraged him to stay true to himself, despite the criticism.
