TV and radio presenter Jessica Opare Saforo has advised against pressuring women to get married, insisting it is none of anyone’s business.

Speaking on societal perception about single ladies, the presenter said it is not the business of family members and friends to be pressuring ladies to marry. “We all get the pressure from family and friends.
You hear it every day, when are you getting married? Whose business is it? Why do you care? How does my getting married put food on your table?” she quipped.
She added that the issue of titles carried by females is also one area that must be addressed. She, therefore, wondered by a man would be known as Mr. whether he is married or not, but a different rule is applied when it comes to ladies.
“A guy is called Mr. for his entire life whether he is married or not. A woman is called Miss and then possibly Mrs There are all these classifications to show a woman or to straight away tell the status of a woman and it is so unfair. For me, there should be a whole campaign of women even dropping this Mrs. thing. My name is Jessica, whether I am married or not shouldn’t matter,” Jessica stated.
Fellow actress and presenter, Gloria Sarfo, also echoed the sentiments of Jessica, saying no lady must allow herself to be pressured into a marriage she does not want.
According to her, “I will definitely get married but I won’t allow anyone to pressure me into getting married. I will marry when I am ready”.
