The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Consumer Protection Agency (CPA), Kofi Owusu Ohene, popularly known as Kofi Kapito, has praised First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo for her humility.
He indicated that since the First Lady assumed office, he has never called her on the phone before, despite being familiar with her relatives.
Kofi Kapito disclosed that he sent a WhatsApp message to the First Lady to book an appointment with her, and to his surprise, he received a response in less than 30 minutes after that.
"I have known her for a while; most of her relatives are my friends. Since her husband became president almost eight years now, I have never called her before, and she hasn't called me either. I wanted to engage her on an issue, and someone gave me her number.
"So, I sent her a message on WhatsApp that I would like to meet her for a discussion when she is less busy. In less than 30 minutes, she responded to the message and gave me an appointment to meet her," he recounted in Twi during an interview with Kingdom FM.
The CEO of CPA advised government appointees and other public servants to emulate Rebecca Akufo-Addo's humility and serve the general public diligently, regardless of their status.
"I know people who were nobody when we were in opposition, but after they were given positions, they don't pick up calls. This is what Akufo-Addo's appointees must do, as they are serving the people," he added.
