Hundreds Swarm 'Stars of the Future' Audition

Mon, 2 Apr 2007 Source: ghanamusic.com

The saying that there are so many talented young ones waiting to be discovered was evident last weekend when the ?Stars f the Future? search train made a stop over in the Central and Western Regions.

The search in these regions began a journey to discover one Music Star; a Comedy Icon and a Freestyle Dance Champion. The event is organized by Charterhouse.

The hundreds of ?wannabe? stars who presented themselves for the auditions were at their best either singing, dancing or giving judges reasons to laugh their lungs out.

As was expected, others poor attempts at becoming music stars and freestyle dance champions made them look more like comedians. They gave judges a good laugh as they sang in shrill voices and danced off beat.

At the Miklin Hotel, yesterday, the ?train? continued to search for this year?s stars.

For the first time, the winner of the music category of the competition will take home a sleek salon car. Winners of the dance and comedy categories of the search will also win 20 million cedis cash and performing contracts respectively.

The train will stop by in Accra on the April 6 and 8th at the Erata Hotel.

Last year?s winner of the Music category was Irene Logan.
