Ace Ghanaian actor Akwasi Boadu, popularly known as Akrobeto has indicated his readiness to take up roles in the popular drama show, ‘concert party’. Akrobeto said his rise to fame was a result of the foundation given him by the Kristo Asafo drama group which used to perform regularly at the National theatre of Ghana on the platform of concert party.
The Kristo Asafo drama group was undoubtedly one of the best concert party groups which pulled a lot crowed during their performances with characters like; Akrobeto, Nkomode and others.
“I am ready to go back to concert party if I am invited to do so. That is where my navel has been planted and it is also part of acting. “The stage performance also gives some experience so even though the payment of concert party players is not too good that is a non issue for me since we (some actors and actress) sometimes shoot movies for free”.
He continued, “Though I may not be able to perform regularly it will inspire the up and coming movie artistes to see me on stage, no matter the time I spend”. Akrobote said, though he is ready to go back to stage drama, he is happy with the monetary gains in the Ghana movie industry.
According to him though he will not disclose his salary in public, what he earns during his movie shoots has made him wealthy. He said, “Seriously there is a lot of money in movie making, but I will never disclose how much I earn because right from the government officials to the last man in this country, none has ever disclosed his salary.
“God has really blessed me; the movie industry will grow beyond imagination. Somebody attended Legon (University of Ghana) to acquire knowledge and has bought a car, build a house; I have also bought a car and built a house so I do not care about international”. He added
Akrobeto said, because of the blessing he has received from the movie industry, the only thing that will make him quit acting is death or old age. “I do not intend quitting; only death or old age can halt my acting career”. Akrobeto hinted
