Fashion critic, Charles Tamekloe, popularly known as Charlie Dior, has issued a word of caution to critics of his choice of attire.
During an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso on the Delay Show, he stated that whenever he posts about a specific outfit online, he is often insulted.
He said he believes these reactions indicate that Ghanaians are uncomfortable with his fashion choices.
Discussing his recent look at the ‘All Black’ party held in Kumasi, Charlie Dior said that many of his outfits were criticized, with people using vulgar words to describe him.
In response to this backlash, the fashion critic emphasized that he is not the source of their problems.
“You know, they are very vulgar and I don’t know why they are mad. They were very vulgar. Like why are you insulting me, why am I triggering you so much? I mean if you don’t like the clothes, you don’t like the clothes but why are you going to the extent of insulting me; have I offended you?
“I’m not the source of your issues or problems so if you don’t like my choice of attire, you can comment and say ‘I do not like this outfit. I feel like you can do it in a better way’ then we are having a productive conversation,” he said.
Delay, curious about the reason behind the insults, asked Charlie Dior why he thinks people criticise him.
In response, he stated that he believes it is because Ghanaians are uncomfortable with his personality, urging these critics to get therapists for themselves.
He told Delay “I make them uncomfortable. I make a lot of Ghanaians uncomfortable and I don’t know why. It’s probably something they need to talk to their therapist about because I am very confident within myself and when I walk in a room, it makes certain people uncomfortable; it triggers certain people. The reason why it does that, I cannot help you with that, you have to seek therapy!”
