Pastor Okrah with Iona Reine
Pastor Okrah, the husband of Ghanaian musician Iona Reine, has opened up about some factors that caused his first marriage to collapse.
In his account, he said he was heavily focused on his ministry work. He added that most of the time, he would hardly spend time interacting with his family.
The pastor also disclosed that whenever he was fasting and praying, he would not get close to his wife until he was done. He said this action did not sit well with the woman because her needs were not met.
Speaking in an interview with Zionfelix and monitored by GhanaWeb, Pastor Okrah indicated that he would blame himself for the collapse of his first marriage.
“I spent most of my time on my ministry work. Most of the time, I was fasting and praying. During that period, you cannot get close to your wife spiritually. So [we just] grew apart, and I think I overdid it. It was my fault, and I take the blame.
“Because she is a woman who has needs that ought to be met, she grew weary. She decided to leave, and both families agreed to part ways amicably so that she could enjoy her life and not be a hindrance to the ministry,” he said.
The pastor emphasised that he would not repeat the same mistakes in his second marriage with Iona Reine.
