Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu has expressed his disappointment in the children of gospel musician Yaw Sarpong regarding the controversies surrounding his ailment.
According to him, in such a troubling moment, he expected Sarpong's children to have shown love to their father and catered for him when he fell sick, to show appreciation.
He noted that even if the veteran gospel artiste did not do enough to cater for their upbringing or give them properties as they would expect, the children should have been there for the musician.
Speaking in an Instagram live session, Manu said that Yaw Sarpong's children sitting aloof while their father is disgraced publicly without making a comment to defend him is disappointing.
"Yaw Sarpong's children have made a big mistake; it means you don't know the impact of your father in this country. Maybe you expected your father to build mansions for you before giving him the needed respect.
"You are allowing your father to be embarrassed in his sickness. As mature people, you should know how to conduct yourselves in these troubling times. I am very disappointed in the children," he said in Twi.
Regarding Yaw Sarpong's wife, the actor said, "For the wife, I will deal with her later. You don't make such remarks on radio."
This follows an interview where Yaw Sarpong's wife, Adwoa Penamang, disclosed to Auntie Naa how the family has mistreated and neglected her since her husband's illness began.
She also expressed her distress over her husband's family allowing Maame Tiwaa to care of Yaw Sarpong, leaving her [Adwoa] neglected.
The interview has drawn criticism from some members of the public who feel the interview was unnecessary and should not have been conducted.
