Hip-hop artiste AJ Nelson is leaving no stone unturned to survive in Ghana’s burgeoning hip-hop music industry.

The rapper, who started professional music career in 2008, is set to release three new singles in the coming weeks.

The songs are Mama Africa, a mixture of hip-hop and francophone rhythms featuring Nelson Manora, a Congolese artiste based in the UK, ‘Still Strong’ featuring Luther and ‘Back Down’, a dancehall song featuring K Danso.

One of the songs will this week be released on radio – Live FM, YFM and Plus FM among others. AJ Nelson told NEWS-ONE on Tuesday that he titled one of the songs ‘Mama Africa’ because he appreciates African beauty.

According to him, the song was inspired by the number of beautiful African women out there.

“It is a song that appreciates our African women. It is basically a metaphor, painting that beautiful picture of the African woman,” he added.

AJ is not a new face in Ghana’s music industry. He is popular for songs like ‘Faith’ (2012), ‘Won’t Give up’ featuring Kesse (2012), ‘Enemy’ featuring Jupiter and Ajalo, ‘One to love you’ featuring Lady J (2013) and ‘So In Love’ featuring Jay Ghartey (2014).

He said “I have a lot of songs coming out this year. The last time I said this year will be a busy year for me and it’s happening. I am working on doing a lot of collaborations. I am working with Knii Lante. He is also launching his album, so he is a bit busy. I am also working with Sheriffa Gunu. So this year is tight and the fans should watch out.”

In the first week of September, AJ would be organising a music event dubbed AJ Nelson and Friends at Epo to celebrate his music career.
