Award-winning Ghanaian afropop, dancehall and reggae artiste Stonebwoy, is certain he will be able to sing even in Chinese if challenged.
According to him in an interview on Kumasi-based Luv Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com, it is all about availing himself for such a hideous task and once he makes up his mind and is able to study, he is positive he can do it.
“Give me three months and I will study and be able to sing in Chinese”, he dared the host of the porgramme.
The musician born Livingstone Etse Satekla whose fluency in Patois is unquestionable, revealed that he studied in view of the genres of music he chose to do adding that his versatility in Patois which is putting him on the international stage was achieved by dent of hard work.
Jamaican Patois, known locally as Patois and called Jamaican Creole by linguists, is an English-based creole language with West African influences spoken primarily in Jamaica and the Jamaican diaspora; it is spoken by the majority of Jamaicans as a native language.
Answering a question Kumasi-based Luv Fm on how he managed to perfect himself in the language he responded “I learnt it…we had to learn it at a point. We wanted to show ourselves approved because we got attracted that genres of music. So we had to study to ensure we are fluent in expressing ourselves in that genre of music to which that genre of music is originated”, he disclosed.
