Bessa Simons
Ghana’s ace highlife musician Bessa Simons has stated on Onua 95.1 fm entertainment program “Anigye Mmre” that, if he should have Bisa K Dei in his band he (Bisa) would be the best performer that Ghana has ever seen.
Speaking to Christian Agyei Frimpong the host, the Belembe hit maker said, he admires the songs of Bisa K Dei most especially “Mansa”.
“that composing sounds like Nana Kwame Ampadu and I want to urge all the upcoming musicians that, they must research about the different kinds of music we had before” “If Bisa K Dei should continue doing good highlife music, then he will remain relevant in this industry for a long time” Bessa added.
Bessa Simons was born into a family of musicians with his father being a choirmaster, organist and music teacher. Whilst at Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion Senior High School in Cape Coast, Bessa played in the school band.
Bessa is a prolific songwriter, keyboardist and singer who has worked with some of the greatest names in West African Music such as Pat Thomas, Papa Yankson, Kari Bannerman, Osibisa, C.K.Mann, Ebo Taylor and Multi-talented Afro Pop Gyedu Blay Ambulley.
Currently Bessa Simon is operating his studio and also training people who wish to learn any musical instrument.
