One of Africa’s favourite sons, the man with Africa at heart, AJ Nelson, has said that he can’t be like other musicians.

Speaking in an interview with DJ Advicer on HappyFM’s Ayeeko Drive show asked about joining trends and why he seems not to be part of any trend of music that has been trending.

He said “all musicians can’t be the same. I want my music to touch the souls of people positively while making money but not going all out for money while sacrificing the positives I want to put out.

He went on to have his take on Medikal’s claim of saving the rap game when it almost ‘died’. “As far as I know, rap music in Ghana has never needed a saviour because it has always been vibrant. We have emcees like me, Manifest, Sark, EL, Okyeame Kwame, Kojo Cue, Flowing Stone, PaeDae and Cabum still alive. I don’t know what he was on when he made that bold statement. He goofed big time.” AJ said.

“I don’t want to be alien in another man’s country. I want my music to be the reason why I travel and when I arrive I want to work on nothing but music.”, AJ responded to DJ Adviser when asked about performing more outside Ghana since he has lots of Scandinavian fans.

He went ahead to mention a few of the new acts that he will like to collaborate with and they were in the likes of Kidi, King Promise and Kelvyn Boy.

AJ Nelson together with AB Crenstil will have a live band performance at the Dansoman Keep fit on the 29th of June. Fans and music lovers are expected to be out in their numbers as it promises to be entertaining.
